              This collection consists of photographs relating to Indigenous peoples and their activities, mostly throughout Canada. The photographs portray extensively the lives of Indigenous people who lived in Canada during the 1800's and early 1900's. Most of the photographs are copies of other photographs but several are copies of sketches and paintings done in the late 1600's to the mid 1800's. Each photograph is labelled with a title and a place of origin.

Also included are personal records of Professor Kidd and his career at the Royal Ontario Museum and Trent University .               This fonds consists of the administrative and academic records created during Professor Kenneth Kidd's career at Trent University. The fonds has been arranged into three distinct series: administrative, academic, and materials related to the development of the native studies program at Trent University. It includes: committee minutes; correspondence, especially relating to the Departments of Anthropology and Native Studies; and manuscripts of works on glass beads, which were later published. There are also brochures, programs and papers from learned societies.

              This collection consists of an eclectic assortment of documents and papers pertaining to many parts of Canada including 3 documents prepared by Powadiuk for the government, 2 of which concern native peoples; 10 prints of 19th century personalities; 1905 map of the Niagara River; papers re Indian-Eskimo Association; deeds, mortgages and trust documents from Huron and Bruce Counties; Niagara peninsula documents including Hugh Alexander's account book; Lord Selkirk letter dated 1837; Charles G.D. Roberts letter dated 1892; notes on the inception of "Evangeline." A major element in the collection relates to Mr. James Ross of East Hawkesbury, stone mason and merchant and his family. The Ross quarry appears to have supplied stone for the Carillon lock and for Fort Henry. The family was involved in the East Hawkesbury school for 2 decades.

Topics included are: Mohawk rationing, relations with Joseph Brant and his family, Indian land administration in Upper Canada and United States, family/personal news, and Six Nations Affairs. The fonds also includes papers, notes and correspondence of J. McE. Murray of the Ontario Historical Society regarding the Ontario Historical Society's papers and records (Vol. 37, 1945).

              Fonds consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports that discuss the implementation of a “Radio Forum in the Canadian North” Canada by the IEA, with co-operation from the CBC in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. The purpose of this service was to create a forum for the Inuit to discuss issues they faced as well as positive events. Its additional purpose was to create a medium for dialogue between other Indigenous people, other Northern communities and other parts of Canada. In doing so, it was hoped that Inuit and other Indigenous people in the North would be able to gain social, economic, and political power and autonomy. S trathmere Associates was retained as a consulting firm and provided project management services for the program. The Radio Forum was to use a radio-listening-discussion-action group model, using Alex Sim’s World War Two “Farm Radio Forum” as a guide. Files includes documents on projects undertaken including the MacKenzie Delta Project, Delta Community Action Project (Delcap), and Northern Community Action Program (NORCAP).

              File contains records relating to material relating to work done by the Indian-Eskimo Association of Canada with Indigenous Peoples in the North. records include correspondence from Dr. Sutherland, on behalf of the IEA looking to acquire a Cessna 180 plane for use in the Northwest Territories and Yukon. Also contained are educational pamphlets for the IEA, a May 1962 newsletter of the IEA, and an editorial by Eleanor Sutherland, titled "A New Approach for Native People in Canada's North."

              This fonds provides a full view of the history of a well-intentioned but short-lived organization involving Indigenous people, government, and the commercial world. It consists of early plans, minutes and correspondence of the board of directors, the development of a constitution and bylaws, correspondence with government and native groups, craft training experience, inventory and accounting processes.

              Collection consists of photocopies of newspaper clippings gathered as part of the press clippings service for Indian and Northern Affairs from June 10 1989 to August 30 1990. The photocopies are on a wide range of topics all concerning Indigenous peoples and communities. A large portion of the articles are about the Oka Crisis with mention to Alanis Obomsawin and the Kanehsatake Resistance, as well as the Meech Lake Accord with mention to Premier Robert Bourassa and the groups, The Native Council of Canada, The Inuit Tapirisat of Canada, and The Assembly of First Nations.

              This item is a journal of events kept by the Post Manager at Eastmain, Outfit 260, James Bay District of the Hudson's Bay Company. His instructions were to record weather conditions, temperatures, activities of Inuit and Native fur trade, animal and bird migration patterns, supply ship and passenger activity, mail arrivals and news of Revillon Freres at an adjoining post.               These documents consist of two stapled mimeographed books. The first, dated March 1946 and entitled "The Union of Saskatchewan Indians: The Record of the Establishment of Indian Unity in Saskatchewan" records the minutes of meetings held in Regina, Duck Lake and Saskatoon, and provides names of the Constitution Committee. It also contains reprints of Treaties No.3 and 4. The second book, dated July 1946 and entitled "The Treaties Between Her Majesty, Queen Victoria and The Indians of British North America" contains reprints of Treaties No. 3,4,5,6,7, and 8.

              This fonds consists of four typed manuscripts written by George H. Young for his children in [1913]. The titles of the manuscripts are as follows: "Historical Paper No. 1. Notes of 1869-70. The Red River Settlement at times spoken of as Fort Garry" (33 pages); "Historical Paper No. 2. The Fenian Raid of October 1871 into Manitoba" (21 pages); "Historical Paper No. 3. Being the first paper of the rebellion of 1885" (22 pages); "Historical Paper No. 4. Re. The half breed and Indian insurrection of 1885" (22 pages). There are references throughout to Louis Riel.
