This fonds consists of records that were left when the Peterborough Women's Committee disbanded in 1987. The files provide a record of a decade of women's political concerns from a local point of view.

This item consists of a set of 40 posters and an accompanying booklet. The posters are reproductions of posters related to the Russian Revolution and created in Russia between 1917 and 1929. They are loosely enclosed in a cover with the title, Posters of the Russian Revolution, 1917-1929, from the Lenin Library, Moscow. Also included is an accompanying booklet with the title, Russian Revolutionary Posters, 1917-1929, published in 1966 and written in English, which gives the translated titles of the posters, along with explanations and a history.

This collection consists of 81 reproduction prints of original engravings of political figures removed from books. Most of the political figures are nineteenth century public figures such as George Brown, General Simcoe, Lord Durham, Robert Baldwin, Sir John A. Macdonald, Louis Lafontaine, Guy Carleton, Egerton Ryerson and William Lyon Mackenzie.

This item is a bill/receipt that was issued on October 1st, 1757 and payable on August 27, 1759 for 900 pounds (livres). The money was to go pay for the general expenses of the colony at Quebec. The document was issued by Monsieur de Boullougne, chief-treasurer or paymaster for the colonies. It was signed in Paris by Boullougne, by the Intendant de la nouvelle France and a witness.

This fonds consists of correspondence, news releases, newsletters, reports, briefs, research notes, clippings, photographs, agendas and directories relating to Richard Johnston, M.P.P. for Scarborough West (New Democratic Party 1979-1990) and as special advisor to the Toronto Islands. There is information on social issues, poverty, education and women's issues included within the fonds.

There are also some papers concerning his work since retiring from politics.

Barclay including correspondence, notes and drafts relating to a history of unemployment insurance which was written by Barclay; correspondence, memoranda, press clippings regarding guaranteed annual wage plans and health insurance; correspondence and clippings regarding pensions; miscellaneous correspondence and papers; and photographs of Unemployment Insurance Commission staff and landscapes. This collection consists of 278 slides taken by Rosemary McConkey during her work as a nutritionist in Malaya (1962) and in Nigeria (1965). McConkey was part of a team of medical personnel and scientists from the University of Ohio who undertook surveys of nutritional needs in these two areas. McConkey has supplied a detailed listing of the slides (below) and has also included a 45 r.p.m. recording of the national anthem of Malaya "Negara Ku,", six books relating to the two areas and a map of Malaya. Collection consists of meeting minutes, statements and briefs, newsletter issues, newspaper clippings, photographs, and correspondence relating to efforts of the Save Maple Mountain Committee. Trent University people associated with this effort included Professor F.M. Helleiner, Professor Bruce Hodgins, and Jamie Benedickson.

This fonds consists of six microfilm reels of the correspondence of Sir Robert Peel, 1841-1846, Prime Minister of Great Britain. It includes the Prime Minister's letters, policy, change of government, ministerial crisis and Irish policy.

This item is a copy of an autobiography of Hon. Sir William Howland as dictated by him in 1906, with 12 appendices and a family tree. Topics covered include Confederation, Red River Colony 1857-58, militia matters, Reciprocity Treaty negotiations of 1865, Reform party politics and separate schools.

The collection contains material related to political movements and student and faculty activism in the late 1960s and 1970s. In particular, it includes records documenting the 1967 dismissal of five Simon Fraser University teacher's assistants and the resignation of Professor T.B. Bottomor as the Dean of Arts. In addition, it includes C.A.U.T.’s censure of Simon Fraser University's in 1968, 1971 and 1974. Records relating to these matters at SFU include newsprint articles, posters, official documents and statements.

The collection also includes records documenting The Old Mole, a student Marxist organization at the University of Toronto in the 1970s. Records include the group's mission statements, newsletters, reports, meeting minutes and proposals.

Lastly, the collection includes documentation of the Waffle (Movement for an Independent Socialist Canada), a far-left subgroup of the New Democratic Party of Canada. The documents are primarily from 1970-1972. Records include manifestos, political strategies, reports and proposals, meeting agendas and minutes, letters to waffle members, news clippings and public education material.

The fonds consists of microfilmed copies of parish registers, registers of service, financial records and early records of St. John's Anglican Church from 1825 to 1935.

This fonds consists of photocopies of letters written by Stafford F. Kirkpatrick to his brother Alexander in Dublin, with a few to his brother William regarding family and friends, business matters, local news, comments on the political situation in Canada, St. John's Church in Peterborough, Thomas A. Stewart and his family, and the Rebellion of 1837. The records cover the period between April 1831 and November 1851.
