The interviews were conducted by Daniel Francis under contract, in 1979, to Parks Canada and focus on such themes as transportation, commerce, settlement, tourism, and resource development. They relate to the section of the Trent-Severn waterway stretching from the mouth of the Otonabee River to Bobcaygeon.

Adams, William PeterThe item is a microfilm of a copy book of correspondence from and to Peter Russell, president administering the government of Upper Canada during the period November 1796 to March 1798. The correspondents include Captain William Claus, Superintendent of Indians and Indian Affairs, and Captain Joseph Brant. Included are copies of speeches made by Russell to "Brothers, Chiefs and Warriors of the Six Nations" concerning their land grants on the Grand River, as well as speeches to "Brothers, Chiefs and Warriors of the Chippewa Nation".

The notebooks contain bibliographic sources, alphabetically arranged, their contents briefly analyzed and evaluated in terms of their usefulness to the study of various facets of Cree society. The notebooks also contain a number of Prentice G. Downes' writings.

Joblin's interest in Indigenous affairs and in particular, the education of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Included in the fonds are references to the Canadian Association in Support of Native Peoples, the Indian-Eskimo Association, copies of Indian News and a Cree hymn book. Also included in the fonds are 14 scrapbooks of clippings on native issues.

The records deal with various charges throughout Canada and most of the records concern his career administering residential schools, native education and religion.

Also included are reports of the Wesleyan Missionary Society, 1851-1857. Some of the items relate to the Hiawatha and Rama Reserves, and Norway House. The original records date from 1839 to 1879. Also included is a modern print of a photograph of Rev Robert Brooking [ca. 1890] and 3 photographs of Elizabeth's tombstone at Chief Island, Lake Couchiching, Rama Reserve, near Orillia.
