This collection consists of 14 photograph negatives of Peterborough Normal School, undated, and portraying people and the grounds of the school. The negatives are enclosed in a J.J. Gilfillan, Orono, Ontario, photographer's envelope, with the name Calvin Hamm, Orono, Ontario written on it. Calvin Hamm was born on March 28, 1909 at Orono, son of Ernest Hamm and Florence Hughson. He was appointed Principal of the Morley Consolidated School at Stratton in September 1935 and received his B.A. at Western University in June 1943. He later taught high school in Fort Frances (taken from a typed information enclosure which accompanies the collection). Also included is a Peterborough Normal School Christmas Card, undated; a Peterborough Normal School Literary Society invitation, 1930; and a photograph of the "Floating Bridge, Bridgenorth, Chemong Lake, 1933."

File consists of a notebook titled "Peterborough Normal School: agricultural note book" kept b Eva Jean Murphy; a Peterborough Normal School souvenir book (1927-1928); two issues of "The School" (Ontario College of Education, University of Toronto: Nov. 1927 No.3 Vol. XVI, and February 1928 No.6 Vol. XVI); Ontario Department of Education, Courses of Study and Examinations, revised 1924; and Ontario Department of Education, Courses of Study of the Normal Schools of Ontario... 1924.

Item is a copy of the 1936 annual meeting minutes of the Peterborough Presbyterial Women's Missionary Society. The meeting was held in Norwood, Ontario on 18 June 1936.

File consists of a modern reproduction of a photograph of Bill Batten leading a parade in front of Hendren’s Funeral Home in Lakefield to deliver Massey equipment. Photograph is accompanied by a note that reads “Bill Batten was the Massey Harris agent for the county of Peterborough.....his nickname was ‘Massey....’”. Also in file, a letter from the Newcastle Village and District Historical Society and a handwritten explanation of Bill Massey Batten.

This item is a photograph of the Conservative Forum which was held at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario on September 7, 1942. The photograph was taken by the Panoramic Camera Co. from 289 Avenue Road in Toronto.

The photographs were taken by Mr. William Martyn who lives on Alexander Ave. in Peterborough, Ontario, next to the hospital. Over the years, whatever the weather, Mr. Martyn produced a complete chronicle of the building/demolition process. Many hours too, were spent arranging and compiling the photographs on the disks into a comprehensive slide show.

File contains an original hand-coloured Dickson Mill property plan. Registered in the Register office Peterborough the 31st December AD 1867. Scale - 100 feet per inch. It is framed with acid-free materials; framed dimensions 66 cm (h) x 104.5 cm (w).

This fonds contains two ledgers. One ledger apparently belonged to a person or business in the Port Hope area. The other ledger deals with a sale by Mrs. Brock and Mrs. Davy's from 31 March 1925.
