Federal Cultural Policy Review CommitteeThe fonds consists of correspondence received by Emmett Sheehy relating to cases of various prisoners in which Sheehy was interested and to the sale of Canadian wheat to Britain, from 1931 to 1939. Correspondents include W.L. Mackenzie King, Mitchell Hepburn, Maurice Dupre and Hugh Guthrie. Also included is a crown land grant to Joseph Aiott, Smith Township, 1852.
Sheehy, Emmett F.This fonds consists of a two-volume biography of Eliza Jane (Hughes) McAlpine, 1854-1938, written by her grandson, Wallace McAlpine, fifty years after her death. The biography contains the Hughes family history from the Napoleonic era, follows Eliza's parents to Canada in the 1840's, describes the marriages of her siblings, and gives a fine sense of life in Durham County in the early years of Canada's nationhood. Eliza's battle with spinal meningitis is recounted. The volumes trace the events, joys, and sorrows of the sizeable Hughes family, the accomplishments of Eliza's husband, Dr. John McAlpine, and the experiences with horses and subsequently automobiles. The extraordinary impact of Hardy's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" is described. The famous Sir Sam Hughes was Eliza's brother and some of his exploits are described. Eliza's tour of Europe is described as it took place just before the outbreak of World War I. Lt. A.A. MacLeod's story is told. There is an account of Lt. Col. Cyril D.H. McAlpine's fateful expedition in the Arctic; a biographical sketch of J.W.L. Foster who painted a portrait of Eliza; an account of M.P. Tom Stinson's visits with Eliza; Eliza's disgust with Vicki Baum; her pleasure in talking with Chief Paudash; and finally her death and its aftermath. The volumes provide a wide, varied sketch of the times in which the events transpire.
Attached to the pages within the volumes are approximately 30 photographs, most of which are portraits, and are both in black and white, and colour.
McAlpine, Eliza Jane (Hughes)This fonds consists of correspondence, poetry, diaries and newspaper clippings relating to Edward Partridge. The letters include one commenting on the death of his son in France during World War I. Also included are his writings on vegetarianism and the Masonic order.
Partridge, Edward A.Hon. Duncan Graham was an Independent Liberal Member of Parliament for Ontario North from 1897 to 1900. His papers contain a form letter from the Canadian Pacific Railway dated April 3, 1900; a letter dated October 10 from S.A. Cunningham threatening to withdraw his support for Graham in the next election and a cancelled cheque from Graham and Dougall McQuaig to E.H. Henry dated October 10, 1899.

Commission on Canadian StudiesThis fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings and miscellaneous documents. The creator of the fonds, Charles Latimer is nephew of Donald Sheridan who was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World (the Wobblies). Along with nearly 100 associates, including correspondents represented in this fonds such as David Ingar and Richard Brazier, Sheridan was sentenced to Leavenworth prison for expressing anti-capitalist, anti-militarist opinions during World War I.

Canadian Association in Support of Native PeoplesThis fonds consists of 12 microfilm reels of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Yukon Territory records which are located in the Library and Archives Canada as RG 18 D, Series 1-4, Old or Series 1-3 New; PAC C-2143 to C-2154. This fonds includes Dawson City Headquarters records (letter books and general and local orders); detachment records; and general administration and other records. The records on the microfilm date from 1898 to 1951.
This fonds consists of a group of 28 indexes compiled by the Registrar General's office and its successor, the Registrar's Branch of the Secretary of State including General Indexes, 1651-1954; keys to General Indexes, 1651-1947; indexes relating to Dominion Lands, Indian and Ordinance Lands, grants, deeds, proclamations, quit-claims, commissions, letters patent and others from 1700 to 1965.
This fonds consists of registers and indices to Orders-in-Council; registers of decisions taken by the Privy Council including number, name and subject, date of receipt in the Privy Council, date of report of committee, date when confirmed in Council and remarks; and an index (1939-1945) of the Cabinet War Committee, with minutes and documents. The records on the microfilm date from 1867 to 1965.
