This accession consists of three letters, one dated January 27, 1981, one April 6, 1982, written by Margaret Laurence to Mary E. Hamilton, a college acquaintance, and one dated September 8, 1986. In the first, which is a photocopy, Laurence expresses her delight in the book "And Some Brought Flowers...", a copy of which Hamilton must have sent to her. She praises the illustrations and the text and suggests that her delight be passed on to Mary Alice Downie and E.J. Revell, co-authors of the book. In the second letter, which is an original, Laurence graciously acknowledges Hamilton's use of a quote in publicizing the "Flower" book. She also comments on the possibility of being nominated for the Nobel prize, asserting that her body of work is much too slim. An additional letter from Laurence dated September 1986 and addressed to Elizabeth Ritchie was forwarded to Trent University Archives in 1999 by the Canadian High Commission in London, England. The letter had been found inside a book and concerns Laurence's prognosis of cancer and her desire to complete her memoirs.

This fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings and the M.A. thesis of Margaret Heideman of Peterborough, Ontario. Most of the correspondence is from Robertson Davies who was editor of the Peterborough Examiner and for whom Heideman wrote book reviews.

This manuscript is a 1984 revised typescript, with original proofs, of Professor Margaret Doxey's publication, "The Contemporary World". Included are original maps used in the publication.
Doxey, MargaretFonds is comprised of 54 audio reel-to-reel tapes created by Lionel Rubinoff; the tapes are recordings of contributions by Professor Rubinoff to CBC Ideas and other CBC programs broadcast in the late 1960s and 1970s. Also included are recordings of various lectures and a Sony reel-to-reel tape player.
Rubinoff, LionelThis fonds consists of scripts of plays presented mostly on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation radio between 1944 and 1951 which were collected by Professor Lionel Rubinoff.
Rubinoff, LionelThis fonds consists of one photograph album, dating from around 1910 to the 1960's. There are assorted programmes and flyers, mostly from Middlebury College, Vermont and this includes programmes for the Coronations of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Also included in the fonds is a 1924 newsletter for Franklin Square House (Girls' Home) and the "Second Book of Verse" by Betsey Buttles with some loose greeting cards and poems.
Hall, LindenThis fonds consists of the personal and collected papers of the Honourable Leslie M. Frost, former Premier of Ontario. It contains correspondence; letter books from World War I through his legal and political career to post-retirement phase of public and private directorships; scrapbooks of Leslie Frost and his wife Gertrude; and historical files on various subjects, including the Frost family, the Carew family, various political figures, and Victoria, Peterborough and Haliburton Counties. The fonds is especially valuable for the study of Conservatism and it includes collected campaign material from 1891 to 1971, material on federal and provincial elections, and original and copied historical material on many individuals and events. Also included in the fonds are photographs, miscellaneous graphic materials, and audio visual materials.
Frost, Leslie M.This fonds consists primarily of research materials relevant to Larry Turner's books and activities. The fonds also contains personal correspondence, as well as research and work- related correspondence. Approximately 627 photographs, mostly of random locations in Ontario, are included in this fonds. Fonds includes 9 diaries written by Turner between 1977 and 1985.
