Biographical history
Mossom Boyd was born in India and son of Gardiner Boyd who was Superior Officer to Colonel Blackall, came to the Bobcaygeon region in Verulam Township in 1833. Over the years, he built up a successful lumber mill, and became one of the most prominent men in the community. When he died in 1883, he was survived by two sons, Mossom M. and W.T.C. Boyd who carried on the family business.
Custodial history
The photocopies were taken from the Mossom Boyd papers located at the Library and Archives Canada: MG 28 III I Vol 235 and donated to the Trent University Archives by Reverend E.L. Straker of Christ Church, Bobcaygeon, Ontario.

This item is a photocopy of the last will and testament of Mossom Boyd, written May 7, 1880 and probated August 27, 1883.
