This item is a roll book for fires in and around Peterborough, Ontario, between 1886 and 1900, with names of fire-fighters, drill entries, dates and places of fires as well as false alarms.

This collection consists of 33 lithographic print plates, mounted on wood, of photographic negatives of the fire brigade, Peterborough City Council (1925, 1933 and 1941), the waterworks, the first fire engine, and the Aylmer Street station. There are also print plates of photographic negatives of fires at various buildings in Peterborough including Quaker Oats, the Boston Cafe, the Salvation Army, and the Peterborough Canoe Company.

Most statements are written directly into the book, while some are typed and glued in or inserted. Statements for concerts indicate performances at Port Hope, Coburg, Peterborough, Lakefield, and Fenelon Falls, as well as a broadcasted concert that was held on May 19, 1926. Also included are statements relating to the Ontario Music Festival Fund. Some additional items are inserted inside the front cover of the book, such as a copy of a paid loan from the Canadian Bank of Commerce from 1929 and the on-board menu for a May 26, 1929 dinner on the return trip of the choir from New York via the Lehigh Valley Railroad.

Item is an original typescript of biographies of doctors who served in the Peterborough area from 1821 to 1921. The document also includes photographs of some of the doctors and appendices comprised of several papers on medical subjects.
