The fonds consists of 6 oral history tapes on cassettes; photocopies and original drafts of interviews; and final transcripts of interviews by Jamie Benidickson on the subject of Leslie M. Frost. Interviewees include Malcolm Montgomery, Dorothy Swallow, Marjorie Porter, Jack and Eileen Beal, and Bill Leishman.
File includes the original full length manuscript dated March 2012, and the final version of the above manuscript, now titled: "The Frost Brothers: The Lives and Times of Les and Cecil Frost." Revision pages were added to the final version located in Special Collections (FC 3075.1 .F7 M34 2014).
Fonds consists of records documenting the Stinson family, primarily the legal and political career of T.H. Stinson. Family records include Christmas cards, wedding invitations, and family portraits, Mrs. Stinson's correspondence, and travel records (postcards, booklets, photographs) documenting the 1913 Christian North American Tour, in which Mr. and Mrs. Stinson participated. Records documenting T.H. Stinson's legal and political career include law school notebooks (1904-1910), correspondence and a scrapbook regarding the 1921 election, campaign files and notes from the 1930 and 1935 federal elections and Leslie Frost's 1934 provincial campaign, material from the Conservative Party Caucus Study club, newspaper clippings regarding the depression and the Bennett government, memoranda, correspondence regarding the riding organization (1933-1935); and House of Commons materials. There are postcards which depict scenes of Canada and the United States, from approximately 1920. Included, also, are several local maps, election posters (1927), and voter tally boards.
Stinson, T.H. (Thomas Hubert)This fonds consists of photocopies of two diaries of Mark Robinson from October 8 to December 31, 1915 and January 1 to March 3, 1917. The 1915 diary deals mainly with recruiting men from Simcoe County. The 1917 diary describes an instructional tour of the trenches in France, time spent in England, and his return to Canada. Leslie and Cecil Frost are mentioned in these diaries.
Robinson, MarkFile includes a composite photograph, Osgood Hall Law School Final Year, 1921 and a Province of Ontario certificate appointing Leslie Frost ""to be one of Our Counsel learned in the Law for Our Province of Ontario," 1933.
This fonds consists of primary research material and the manuscript and photographs for Harley R. Cummings' book, "Early Days in Haliburton". The fonds also consists of correspondence, including letters from the Honorable Leslie Frost, photographs, maps, and an original 1863 surveyor's diary for Eyre Township. Also included are the C.R. Stewart diaries, dated 1902-1904. C.R. Stewart (1826-1905) was resident agent for the Canadian Land and Immigration Company and was the first settler in the Village of Haliburton. In his diaries he refers to Colonel Samuel Hughes and Mossom Boyd. Stewart's son, C.E. Stewart (1851-1921) was editor of the "Bobcaygeon Independent". The fonds also includes several historical papers and publications written by Cummings and others.
Cummings, Harley R.File consists of photograph of Hon. Leslie M. Frost at the presenting of his portrait in 1971 and at convocation (n.d.). Frost, was Trent University's first Chancellor from 1967 to 1973.
Collection consists of 9 audio cassette records of individuals reminiscing about Leslie Frost and his brothers Cecil and Grenville. Tapes were made in 1984 and individuals interviewed include: William Davis, Richard Gorwill, Hugh Latimer, Clare Westcott, Alf Cole, Roland Michener, and Marjorie Porter. there are transcripts available. Also included in the collection is an illustrated paper presented by Brian McFadzen, 2006, entitled "The Frost Brothers in Lindsay." Also included is a CD of photographs reproduced from a Frost scrapbook and showing their homes and offices in Lindsay Ontario and also showing portraits of the Frost brothers.
