History
The Townships of Sherborne and McClintock are located in the north-west corner of Haliburton County. They form part of the United Municipalities of Sherborne, McClintock and Livingstone which was created in 1979 and it has a population of approximately 500 people. Sherborne was the first of the Townships surveyed in 1862. It was named after the English town of Sherborne. McClintock was surveyed in 1876 and it was named after Sir Francis Leopold McClintock, the artic explorer. (Taken from: Mika, Nick and Helma. "Places of Ontario, Part III, N-Z."
