This fonds consists of a dedication program for the cenotaph honouring the heroes of the Great War (World War I) in Millbrook on June 23, 1921. There is also a photograph of the Millbrook Lacrosse Team of 1881 who were the Champions of Central Ontario. The photograph has a list of names affixed to the back of it.

This fonds is a small collection of historical information on the people, places, mills, organizations in Cavan Township and the Village of Millbrook. Included are reminiscences from pioneer descendants, essays on the Cavan Blazers (an Orange vigilante group), early mills, prominent pioneer citizens and local legends.

Subject areas pertain primarily to Catharine Parr Traill, Susanna Moodie, Robertson Davies, and a conference held at Trent University in honour of Timothy Findley (1997). Also included are handwritten notes, correspondence with researchers, publishers and editors, and copies of talks, papers and manuscripts by Professor Peterman.

Mitchell’s serialized novel, The Alien; first and last draft of manuscript for book Winona (published 2007) plus various edited pages related to the manuscript; correspondence with Len Early, co-editor with Peterman for Winona and The Collected Short Stories of Isabella Valancy Crawford; biographical and other research material related to Isabella Valancy Crawford and her works; correspondence with Tamar Dobozy regarding a Peterman article, “Writing for the Illustrated Story Papers in the 1870s: Individuality and Conformity, Isabella Valancy Crawford’s Stories and Serialized Fiction” (published in Short Story, Spring 2005); references to stories and books: Hearthstone, Hate, and Flora Lyndsay; research and manuscript material pertaining to the creation of the critical edition of Flora Lyndsay: Passages in an Eventful Life.

Fonds is comprised of research material, notes, typescripts, manuscripts, and correspondence pertaining to Winona, or, The Foster Sisters, co-edited and published by Professor Michael Peterman and Professor Len Early (Peterborough: Broadview Editions, 2007).

The fonds consists of daily meteorological registers of observations of temperature, barometer readings, precipitation, clouds, wind velocity and direction and the general state of the weather of Peterborough, Ontario. Also included are monthly abstracts recording temperature and barometric extremes, the number of rainy, snowy or foggy days, the number of days when there was thunder or lightening. Newspaper clippings regarding Peterborough local weather are included.

Collection includes the agendas, minutes, and correspondence of the Meta Incognita Project Steering Committee and the Archival Research Task Force (ARTAF). Also included are ARTAF research materials, reports, transcripts, notes, etc. relating to an American Historical Association meeting and a Trent University conference which focused on the subject of Frobisher and his Northwest initiatives.

A one-page document outlining the accomplishments of the two explorers and requesting support for the construction of a memorial in their honour at the Nigerian Pavailion at Wembley.

This addition to the fonds consists of correspondence between Scott Medd and his sister Miss Mary Medd of Peterborough, Ontario. The correspondence is from the later period of their lives. There are also photographs of the Medd and Daniels families.
