Fonds is a research collection comprised of handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, photocopies of published and primary materials, transcriptions of letters, video and cassette tapes. Subject areas pertain primarily to Catharine Parr Traill, Susanna Moodie, Robertson Davies, and a conference held at Trent University in honour of Timothy Findley (1997). Also included are handwritten notes, correspondence with researchers, publishers and editors, and copies of talks, papers and manuscripts by Professor Peterman.

Fonds is comprised of photocopied pages pertaining to W.O. Mitchell’s serialized novel, The Alien; first and last draft of manuscript for book Winona (published 2007) plus various edited pages related to the manuscript; correspondence with Len Early, co-editor with Peterman for Winona and The Collected Short Stories of Isabella Valancy Crawford; biographical and other research material related to Isabella Valancy Crawford and her works; correspondence with Tamar Dobozy regarding a Peterman article, “Writing for the Illustrated Story Papers in the 1870s: Individuality and Conformity, Isabella Valancy Crawford’s Stories and Serialized Fiction” (published in Short Story, Spring 2005); references to stories and books: Hearthstone, Hate, and Flora Lyndsay; research and manuscript material pertaining to the creation of the critical edition of Flora Lyndsay: Passages in an Eventful Life.

Fonds is comprised of research material, notes, typescripts, manuscripts, and correspondence pertaining to Winona, or, The Foster Sisters, co-edited and published by Professor Michael Peterman and Professor Len Early (Peterborough: Broadview Editions, 2007).
