Series consists of Trent University and student records, including programs, invitations, list of visitors for Trent University’s official opening ceremonies, course materials and information for students, various student records, convocation photos, student directories from Traill College and Eta Delta Sigma Fraternity, and registration cards. Also included are Trent University documents from Robert’s student days, newspaper articles about Trent University, and documents regarding the first Trent Student Affairs seminar (September 12-14, 1966). Lastly, historical records pertaining to the history of the former occupants of 751 George Street, which include James Kendry, James R. Stratton, Richard Sheehy and family, who played a pivotal role in Peterborough’s early development.

Series consists of records related to Trent University student governance, including the Canadian Union of Students (CUS), a union of 40 student councils across Canada. Material includes correspondence, meeting minutes, Robert’s personal notes, and a mission statement. Also included are key student governance reports, titled “External Affairs: background paper for discussion at the first Trent seminar on ‘student affairs.’” Also included is correspondence with Canadian Premier Life and the World University Service of Canada. Additionally, Peter Robinson College Committee and College Cabinet meeting minutes, Traill College meeting minutes, and correspondence regarding the trademark of Trent University colours and symbols.

Series consists of unidentified photographs taken of or submitted to Margie and Robert Lightbody. Most of the photographs appear to have been taken at a house party in 1989 and at an Alumni reunion organized by the Lightbody’s in Fall 1994. Series also consists of a scrapbook of the 1994 reunion which contains letters from Trent alumni, photographs of alumni which were taken while they were at the reunion week as well as when they were students in the 1960’s. There are also thank you notes addressed to the Lightbody’s for their efforts organizing the reunion. Series also consists of some photographs of Margie and Robert Lightbody taken at Trent events or on the Symons Campus. Other photographs include early construction shots of Champlain College, and of Sadlier House and Peter Robinson College.

Series includes prints from David Lasenby titled “North Wing, Otonabee College” (no. 100/350); “Sadlier House, Peter Robinson College” (no. 140/350); “Master’s Lodge, Champlain College” (no. 195/350), the building is now called the Alumni House; “North Wing, Lady Eaton College” (no. 140/350), and “Scott House, Catharine Parr Traill College” (no. 160/350). Series also consists of newspaper issues and clippings from the Peterborough Examiner, Globe & Mail, Trent Trends, The Telegram, and After Four newspaper clippings to do with Trent University. Also includes one flyer announcing the reopening of Sadlier House (2004).

Series consists of a newsletter and pamphlet created by the Canadian Federation of University Women Peterborough (CFUW). They both have an advertisement of the speech Margie Lightbody gave at one of their programs to celebrate Trent’s 50th anniversary which was called “Memories of Trent University”. Series also includes the speech notes for Margie’s presentation.
